Defending MTN FA Cup winners Accra Hearts of Oak are through to the grand finale of this season’s competition after victory over Dreams FC this afternoon.
The Phobians advanced to the next round of this competition with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Dreams FC in the first semi-final game played at the Accra Sports Stadium.
They will play the winner of the other semi-final tie between Aduana FC and Bechem United in the final in Kumasi next month.
Bechem United will play Aduana FC at Berekum on Sunday for a right to meet the Phobians in the final.
Hearts’ goals against Dreams FC this afternoon were scored by Benjamin Yorke, Daniel Afriyie Barnie and Suraj Seidu as they secured passage to the final for a second successive season.
Sylvester Silver and Kwaku Karikari scored the two goals for Dreams FC who were hoping to qualify to the final of this competition for the first time in their history.
The win this afternoon, puts Hearts of Oak on good standing towards retaining the trophy they won last season after enduring a not too pleasant campaign.
They are the record winners of this competition and, they await the winner of the other semi-final encounter tomorrow to contest for the ultimate.
