Hearts of Oak on Thursday counted on the team’s quality in squad depth to brush aside Skyy FC in the quarter-finals of this season’s MTN FA Cup competition.
Last season, the Phobians enjoyed an excellent campaign in the domestic cup competition and went all the way to emerge as champions.
This season, the team has continued that good run and as a result, is in contention to retain the title.
Earlier this afternoon, Hearts of Oak locked horns with lower-tier outfit Skyy FC to fight for a place in the last eight stages of the MTN FA Cup.
In a game where the Phobians were given a tough match, pacey attacker Patrick Razak climbed off the bench to score in the 66th minute.
The winger latched onto a well-executed pass from midfielder Gladson Awako before firing his effort into the top corner to win the game for Hearts of Oak.
Courtesy of the result, Hearts of Oak are through to the semi-finals of this season’s MTN FA Cup competition and will face fellow Ghana Premier League side Dreams FC.
