N/R: 8yr old girl defiled by a security guard in Tamale

The family of an 8-year-old girl is demanding justice following her defilement by a security guard in Tamale in the Northern Region.

The small girl is said to have been defiled by a 30-year-old man who works as a private security guard.

The suspect who has been identified as Mohammed from checks made works at the Bethel Methodist School Complex at Ward K.

He reportedly took advantage of the innocent girl and defiled her one afternoon when she went to urinate near a toilet facility close to his workplace.

The security guard reportedly threatened the girl that she will die if she informs her parents.

The girl after the incident shared her ordeal with her friends whom she was playing with.

Days after the incident, one of the friends told the victim’s aunt about what happened before she finally opened up.

Having been taken to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for checks, doctors according to sources confirmed that the girl had indeed suffered defilement.

The aunty of the small girl after the confirmation reported the matter to the police, leading to his arrest.

The suspect has been granted bail and awaiting trial.
