The 32-year-old woman at the centre of the recent domestic violence case, Madam Harriet Amuzu, has come forward to share the harrowing details that led to the incident.

Speaking to newsmen, Madam Amuzu explained that her marriage to the Bra Yaw had already ended some time ago when she left their matrimonial home for her village and left their children in the care of her ex-husband because he refused to allow them go with her.

The events leading to the assault began when her ex-husband contacted her with an urgent claim that one of their children was seriously ill.

This distressing news immediately prompted Madam Amuzu to rush back to her husband’s house to check on her child.

Upon arrival, however, she discovered that the child was perfectly fine, and the sickness was a lie.

When Madam Amuzu confronted her ex-husband about the false alarm, she said he offered no explanation for his deception.

Madam Amuzu revealed that the situation tragically escalated when her ex-husband made sexual advances toward her.

“An altercation occurred when I refused his sexual advances,” she stated. This refusal ultimately triggered the savage attack captured in the viral video. The man’s response to her rejection of his advances demonstrates a disturbing level of violence.

Adding to her ordeal, Madam Amuzu revealed a deeply concerning issue regarding her attempts to seek help from law enforcement.

She claimed that she had made several previous reports about her estranged husband’s conduct to both the Tesano and Ofankor police stations, but alleges that she was consistently ignored by the authorities.

The woman is now receiving public support following the visibility of the shocking video, while questions are being raised about the handling of her previous domestic violence complaints by the police service.
