The Presbyterian Hospital at Dormaa Ahenkro in the Bono Region has marked its 70th Anniversary with a grand celebration, reflecting on seven decades of committed healthcare service to the people of Dormaa and surrounding communities. The anniversary was held on the theme: “Celebrating 70 Years of Excellence: Advancing Quality Healthcare Through Innovation and Modern Practices.”

The event brought together distinguished personalities, including the Dormaahene, Osaagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Agyemang Badu II. In his address, the Dormaahene praised the hospital for its vital role in improving health outcomes in the region and called for strengthened collaboration between government, traditional authorities, and religious institutions to expand the hospital’s infrastructure and services.

He also commended the hospital’s General manager for his dedication and resilience over the years.
The Dormaahemaa, Odeneho Dr Akosua Fima Dwabeng II was also present. Representing the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Benjamin Appiah, highlighted the church’s commitment to supporting healthcare delivery across the nation and encouraged continued professional excellence.

The National Chairman of the ruling party, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, who was a special guest applauded the hospital for maintaining high-quality services despite challenges and emphasized the need for increased investment in healthcare facilities.
The celebration also saw the attendance of the Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Akwaboah, and the Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dominic Adomah, who assured government’s support towards enhancing healthcare delivery within the municipality.

Management of the hospital used the occasion to outline planned development initiatives, including the expansion of critical care services, improvement of medical equipment, and continuous professional development for staff.

The Presbyterian Hospital Dormaa Ahenkro was established in 1955 and has since grown into a key regional healthcare center, providing medical care, community health outreach, and training for health professionals.
