Tonight at 9 p.m., President John Mahama will give a national address as the nation continues to grieve the tragic military helicopter crash that killed eight people in the Ashanti Region’s Adansi Akrofuom District on Wednesday.

The Presidency honored the victims with a sorrowful wreath-laying ceremony earlier today in Jubilee House’s Ceremonial Gardens.

Two high-ranking government officials, Environment Minister Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammad and Defense Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, were among the dead.

Party officials and top military men were also involved in the crash.

In remembrance of those who lost their lives while performing their duties, the government announced three days of national mourning, which began with the heartfelt homage.

It is anticipated that the president’s speech tonight will honor the fallen by reflecting the nation’s collective pain and outlining the way forward.
