President must capitalize on the trade minister’s resignation to embark on a reshuffle – Political Activist

Mr. Samuel Boateng, a political activist has expressed that president Nana Akuffo Addo must use the resignation of Mr. Alan John Kwadwo Kyeremanteng, the immediate past Minister of trade and industry to commence an earnest reshuffle in government business to ensure the continuous increase of development in the country.

He stressed that this happening is a wake-up call for the president to as a matter of urgency embark on a reshuffle to augment developmental plans in governance indicating that the early reshuffle will prevent Ghanaians from missing the service of the outgoing trade and industry minister.

Mr. Samuel Boateng indicated that the resignation of the trade minister is a good decision to enrich his presidential ambition but the same decision will go a long way to affect the plans of president Akuffo Addo’s governance in the remaining years because he was given the ministerial appointment due to the belief and trust he had in him.

He indicated that the former Minister’s plan to vacate his position is a step in the right direction that will separate government business from individual business thereby paving way for other appointees to work hand in hand with the government to meet the needs of the citizenry.

Mr. Samuel Boateng commenting on the time frame for the NDC primaries scheduled for May 6, 2023, to be run concurrently, stressed that the party must consider a lot of things and ensure the right processes are laid down to promote the unity and strength of the party to compete strongly with the NPP in the 2024 general elections.

He opined that running the primaries concurrently will affect the unity of the party hence they must rather consider parliamentary primaries first and settle all setbacks, foster reconciliation and propose a good time for the presidential primaries which he said will facilitate unity and strengthen the party against their opponent in the coming general elections.
