After her family refused to accept her sɛxual orientation, an 18-year-old Indian girl tragically committed suicide. The second-year arts student was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in her apartment, along with a note detailing her conduct.

In her suicide letter, the adolescent openly acknowledged that she was a lesbian and expressed her inability to comprehend marrying a male and living a happy life.

She went on to say that ending her life by suicide felt like a better alternative than living a lifestyle she was not naturally drawn to. In the note, she apologized to her parents for her conduct.

Following her suicide, a post-mortem examination was performed, and her body was released to her parents for final rites. They then drove her to their village for the funeral.

The incident has shocked members of the same-sɛx community, and authorities have confirmed that the adolescent did not get support from her parents after they learned of her sɛxual orientation.

Despite her parents’ criticism of her gender preferences, the youngster stayed solid in her beliefs, as confirmed by Gittikhadan police station sub-inspector Nitin Vithole, who visited the suicide site.

The adolescent took the severe action when her family was abroad, and her father was the first to notice her hanging body.
