Sad as Nollywood actress Ada Ameh dies
Colleagues and fans of Nollywood actress Ada Ameh have since been left with heartbreaks and disbelief as the actress died
The actress, known for her role as Emu in Africa Magic family drama, The Johnsons, died on Sunday night.
The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, confirmed the news to The PUNCH via telephone on Monday morning.
“We lost Ada. No details at the moment, but we’ve lost Ada,” Rollas told our correspondent.
However, viral unverified reports on social media claimed that the actress died Sunday night at a hospital in Delta State.
The actress. a few weeks ago, opened up about her mental health challenges.
“Everything is going to be fine. I have an issue right now, and it’s taking my life. I will not die. We will get over it,” Ameh had said.
Ada Ameh lost her only child in October 2020 and in June 2022, she mentioned that she was battling a mental illness.
Born on May 15, 1974 in Ajegunle, Lagos, the popular actress shared a video of her eating with the family around 12:53pm on Sunday on her official Instagram page, hours before she died.
Ameh, who played the role of Anita in the movie ‘Domitilla’ in 1996, is famous for her comic characters, especially in the series The Johnsons. Sad as Nollywood actress Ada Ameh dies
