A startling video captures the moment a zookeeper entered a lion’s cage to “impress his girlfriend” but he got fatally attacked and devoured by the animals.
The zookeeper, identified as 44-year-old F. Iriskulov, filmed himself approaching the lions’ cage before being mauled.
The video showed him opening a padlock on an enclosure at 5 a.m. while working the night shift at a private zoo in Parkent, Uzbekistan.
Initially, the three lions sat calmly in the far corner of the enclosure, giving the impression that they were inactive.
The man backed off in obvious surprise as the beast suddenly leapt to life, and then the slowly approached him.
He repeatedly mentioned one of the lions’ names, “Simba,” before ordering the animal to keep quiet.
Despite being surrounded by lions, he confidently flipped the camera to reveal his face, to record the video to send to his fiancée.
When one of the animals approached him, the keeper stroked it, indicating they were acquainted.
But was later eaten by the hungry animals with no mercy.
