Salaries of government workers increased by 15% salary

Government has duly approved the payment of fifteen percent (15%) premium for the 2021 monthly basic salary for Civil and Local Government Services (CLOSAG) workers.

This is a Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) reached between the government represented by the Hon. Minister of Employment and Labour Relation, Executives of the Civil and Local Government Services Association
(CLOSAG).

The effective date of implementation is January 1, 2021, which implies that all unpaid arears from January 1, 2021 are affected. The official release as sighted by us reads as follows.

Salary Increment Official Release

” In line with the Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) reached between Government represented by the Hon. Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Executives of the Civil and Local Government Services Association of Ghana (CLOSAG), approval is given for the payment of a fifteen percent (15%) premium of the 2021 monthly basic salary of staff of Civil and Local Government Services.

The effective date of implementation is January 1, 2021. Associated arrears (January to June, 2021) are to be effected as follows:

PAYMENT PERIOD ARREARS

AUGUST – 1 month (January 2021)
SEPTEMBER – 1 month (February 2021)
OCTOBER – 1 month (March 2021)
NOVEMBER – 1 month (April 2021)
DECEMBER – 2 months (May and June 2021)
