Sulley Muntari urges against dismantling the Black Stars Squad After World Cup Exit. Sulley Muntari, a former Black Stars midfielder, has asked the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to retain the Black Stars team despite their World Cup elimination in 2022.
Following their encounter against Uruguay, the Ghana Black Stars were unable to advance to the 16th round, which resulted in their elimination from the football competition.
Many concerned Ghanaians asked that the Black Stars squad be disbanded and replaced with fresh players after they were disqualified from competition. Sulle Muntari, however, has a different viewpoint on the Black Stars squad.
“I can’t wait to see these kids progress not now, but in the future. Like hold them together, I am one but of course, I am going to talk to the management, coaches, and probably the President, you don’t dismantle this team,” he told 3Sports.
“Whatever happens here, you still hold these kids because they are very young. You don’t change most of them, just a little maybe one or two then you just polish them. Let say 8-9 players should be the base for the future of the national team. Eight players should be like the foundation of the Black Stars” he added.
