Hearts of Oak will renew rivalry with Asante Kotoko when they come up against in the Super Cup ahead of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.
The Champion of Champions has been scheduled for September 4.
Asante Kotoko were crowned champions of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.
Hearts of Oak defended their MTN FA Cup title with a 2-1 2in against Bechem United at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The first goal of the game went to Bechem United in the 45th minute. A brilliant long ball from Latif Anabila found Augustine Okrah who forced a save from Ayi but Avornyo was there to knock the ball in off a rebound.
Three minutes later, Hearts of Oak got their answer through a set-piece. A pinpoint cross found Caleb Amankwah who tried the spectacular which easily beat the opposition goalkeeper to level matters just before the halftime whistle.
In the second half, Hearts of Oak showed more drive and were rewarded with their first lead of the game in the 61st minute.
Gladson Awako’s cross-found birthday boy Daniel Afriyie Barnieh dinked it into the net.
The night got worse for Bechem United as star man Augustine Okrah was sent off in the 67th minute.
Hearts of Oak were able to hold on from there to clinch the title. It is Samuel Boadu’s second FA Cup trophy in succession after leading the side to the crown in 2021.
Asante Kotoko will represent the country in the CAF Champions League while Hearts of Oak compete in the CAF Confederations Cup next season.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League will kick off on the weekend of Friday, September 9 to Monday, September 12, 2022.
