The Chiefs and People of the Ada Traditional Area – as part of their 86th Asafotufiami Festival – held a Grand Durbar under the theme ‘Honouring our heroes, revamping natural resources and unlocking our tourism potentials’ with a showcase of the cultural history, customs, and traditions of Ada
The Guest of Honour, His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo, President of the Republic paid glowing tributes to the Chiefs and called on on them to support the New Songhor Project managed by Electrochem Ghana Ltd.
On his part, the Chairman of the Festival/durbar, Amb Mike Oquaye Jnr, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority called on ALL GaDangmes to unite to foster a common developmental goal. He praised the fact that an indigenous GaDangme was successfully operation the salt mines in the area to create even more local job and local wealth.
He also used the opportunity to inform the business community about the newly acquired 1,200acres Industrial Park at Afienya in the Ga Adangbe territory.
Djetse Abrham Kabu Akuaku III, the Paramount chief of the Ada Traditional Area called on the President to intensify its developmental drive in the Ada territory to provide more for his people and that the people of Ada are grateful for the massive developments in their area.
