It was a hot afternoon on Saturday 24th December,2022 at the RC Park as the weather continued to be in its blistering and schorcher period in Akrofuom,the District Capital of the Akrofuom District. This weather condition set the tone right for the second version of the graduation ceremony of Akrofuom Zone of the Ghana National Tailors and Dressmaking Association (GNTDA) possible.
The Patron of the Association and at the same time MP for Akrofuom Constituency Hon.Alex Blankson expressed his delight about how God has helped him to achieve one of his greatest vision of ensuring that, the Akrofuom Zone of the GNTDA have its graduation ceremony at home and intimated that the program has come to stay.
In this year’s version of the graduation ceremony,Hon.Blankson donated 19 latest sewing machines and quilted with GHC 9,500.00 to the graduands to motivate them set up their own enterprises.He had earlier on made part payment of the candidates examination registration fees and also supported the program with an amount of GHC 5,000.00.
As the MP and the DCE keep working together in the interest of the Akrofuom District,the DCE,Hon.Dr.Maurice Jonas Woode, expressed his greatest dismay about the continued decline rate of young men participation in the area of education and artisanal works.He appealed to stakeholders in the district especially Nananom and the MP to have an immediate intervention before the situation get out of hand.The DCE who was also the chairman for the program supported with an amount of GHC 2000.00
The Presiding Member for the Akrofuom District Mr. Peter Amponsah and Assembly Members for Akrofuom East and Nana Okai Electoral Areas were present.
