The murder case of Stephen King Amoah, the late Immigration Officer, has been postponed by the Adabraka District Court until October 9, 2025.

The hearing takes place precisely five days before the officer’s body was found and two months after he was reported missing.

Both Thomas Zigah, the second accused, and Bright Aweh, the leading suspect, appeared in court.

In order to accommodate more forensic examinations and continuing inquiry, prosecutors asked for a one-month extension of remand. The accused was ordered to stay in detention after the judge granted the request.

Gordon Aboagye, the second accused’s attorney, insisted on his client’s innocence and stated that he was prepared to provide evidence of it.

He expressed concern about the dearth of information about the accused’s incarceration, highlighting the need for relatives to have access so they may communicate with them and cater for their basic needs.

“It is not easy to lose a loved one, but we are on our bended knees to allow the law to work. We are not enemies.” he said, urging the deceased’s family to allow due process to play out.

The presiding judge warned the late officer’s family that they would face legal repercussions if they attempted to enforce the law themselves.

As of right now, the case has been postponed until October 9, 2025.

In the meantime, a dramatic scene occurred before the Adabraka District Court when the aunt of Stephen King Amoah, the deceased immigration officer, broke eggs and cursed the people she believes killed him as part of rituals.

She cursed. “Anyone responsible for his death should also suffer the same fate. All your generation will suffer the same fate; the gods should deal ruthlessly with anyone responsible for his death; the gods shouldn’t spare anyone involved in his murder.”
