The government’s commitment to bolstering fundamental learning through play-based approaches and the use of local languages as crucial factors in determining educational performance in basic education has been underlined by the Honorable Haruna Iddrisu, Minister of Education.
In order to give every Ghanaian kid the best start in life, he urged increased investment in early childhood education and noted that studying in the native languages provides a solid foundation for lifetime learning.
During a visit to an Accelerated Learning Programme (ALP) class in Abelenkpe, which is part of the Ghana Education Outcomes Project (GEOP), which provides education outcomes funding to out-of-school children, Hon. Iddrisu provided the guarantee.

In attendance at the ALP sessions, UK Minister for Development Baroness Chapman said she was delighted to be working with the Ghanaian government and other interested parties to increase the number of local language programs offered nationwide.
While acknowledging that this program would assist youngsters in returning to school, she underlined that robust partnerships and system strengthening were necessary for long-term results.
A common goal to change education in Ghana was reflected in the gathering of important players from the World Bank, Plan International, GEOP, KPMG, Bridges Outcome Partnership, and other partners.
