The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is ahead in the Kpandai election rerun, according to a recent Global Info Analytics poll.

Daniel Nsala Wakpal received 50.7% of the vote in the most recent poll, while Matthew Nyindam, the candidate of the New Patriotic Party, received 48.7%.

According to pollster Mussa Dankwa, the surveys were carried out between December 26 and 27, 2025, with a sample of 1,016 and a margin of error of ±3.9% with a 99% confidence level.

In the meantime, the Supreme Court directed the Electoral Commission (EC) to halt all preparations for the Kpandai Constituency parliamentary election rerun until the outcome of an appeal contesting the ruling of the High Court.

A five-member panel of the Supreme Court, presided over by Justice Gabriel Pwamang, issued an order stating that this would prevent the election from going too far in the court’s decision over a certiorari application submitted by Mathew Nyindam of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The lawsuit has been postponed until January 13, 2026.

The Kpandai Constituency’s 2024 parliamentary election results were declared void by the Tamale High Court in November of this year, and a new election was mandated.

Mr. Nyindam was occupying the seat before then.

The court, led by Justice Emmanuel Brew Plange, ruled that there were numerous irregularities in the election and mandated a rerun within 30 days.

The ruling came after Mr. Wakpal filed a petition contesting the election.

Following the ruling, the EC declared that a new election would take place on December 30, 2025.
