Presentations during the last session, which was held yesterday at the Ministry of Finance, came from:
• Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection
• Ministry of Finance
• Ministry of Works and Housing
The Ministry of Finance strategically engages all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in the Budget Hearing.
It serves as a platform to critically assess MDAs’ budget plans, programs, and projects for the upcoming fiscal year in addition to reviewing their financial and non-financial performance for the current one.
The Budget Office holds these hearings with Covered Entities following the submission of their proposals, as required by Regulation 17(3) of L.I. 2378, the Public Financial Management Regulation (2019).
This ensures accountability, alignment, and efficient resource allocation in Ghana’s public finance system.
This year’s hearings come to an end with today’s session, which is a significant turning point in the country’s budget preparation process.
