Thief storms SDA church to steal members phone during service

A young Ghanaian man has been apprehended after for storming a Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) church during a church service to steal mobile phones belonging to worshippers.

According to information circulating on social media, the suspect took advantage of the solemn worship atmosphere to steal phones from unsuspecting church members who were deeply engaged in prayers and praises.

A video from the scene which has since gone viral, captures the moment some community youths caught the suspect shortly after the alleged theft.

The footage shows heightened emotions as the young man was confronted by residents, including elders, over his actions.

In the video, a youth leader, who appeared visibly disappointed, disclosed that the suspect was his personal friend.

Despite their relationship, he insisted that the young man would not be spared and would be treated like any other thief caught within the community.

“Even though he is my friend, the law of the community applies to everyone,” the youth leader was heard saying in the clip.

The video further shows some elderly men at the scene expressing their anger by slapping the suspect, condemning his alleged actions, especially given the sacred setting in which the theft reportedly occurred.

The incident has sparked mixed reactions online, with some social media users condemning the act of theft in a place of worship, while others expressed concern over the use of mob justice and called for suspects to be handed over to the police for proper legal action.
