The incumbent member of parliament for Asante Akyem North has raised concerns over mopocracy which is taken center stage of the New Patriotic Party.
Speaking with the media immediately after winning a resounding victory to retain the Asante Akyem North, Hon Andy Appiah Kubi, was worried about the way and manner huge sums of money spent in our political contest and caution party leaderships to do something meaningful about it to enable the senior once remains in parliament because they have the experience to lead and represent the people.
According to him, the young once when voted for them it takes full one year to learn and study parliamentary proceedings and it becomes a burdens on the senior once in parliament.
He said if things and the party continues to unfold the happening some them will quit active politics and start focusing on his own business.
The elections are over so it may be prudent if his contenders will surround themselves and join hands with to ensure a resounding victory for both presidential and parliamentary elections in the upcoming 2024 general elections to enable the party break the 8yrs syndrome.
He emphasis that the party cannot afford to lose the experience and competent senior once in parliament.
The sometimes when he hear party loyalties screaming at us that we have been long parliament so is high time party loyalty understand that the continued stay in parliament makes them more important, experience and competent members to participate in most of decisions in parliament.
He call on party loyalties to exercise restraints and stop bringing in people who have no experience and technical know how to come and unseat incumbent members.
Meanwhile in a case of Asante Akyem Central the incumbent member of parliament Hon Kwame Anyimadu Antwi pulled 372 votes whilst the CEO of NEIP Mr Kofi Ofosu Nkansah also gets 213 votes.
In an interview with the media the incumbent Hon Anyimadu call for unity and appeal to the contenders to put everything behind and come and rally him to enable party win more seats in parliament and also break the eight.
He indicated that what he wants his contenders to understand is that today’s election is an internal one needs to foster unity to mentain Asante Akyem Central and also help break the eight.
