The President of the Republic of Ghana H.E.Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo personally donates 50,000 Ghana Cedis in addition to a cash of 250,000 Ghana Cedis to winner of season 5 Presidential Pitch.
According to him, Namguima Samuel emerged victorious in the Presidential Pitch – Season 5, capturing hearts with his groundbreaking Smart Switch System.
This innovation, which enables automatic energy consumption control and remote task execution, also doubles as a security-controlled communication system.
Through the Presidential Pitch, we are highlighting a future of possibilities with the concept of Unicorn Entrepreneurs.
“We are envisioning a future, preferably within a decade, where successful businesses from this Presidential Pitch could be worth over a billion Ghana cedis, if we are to localize the term Unicorn. This is a unique way of creating our own Jack Mas, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, and multiplying our Osei Kwame Despites, and Jospongs, to name but a few” he said.
Already, they are seeing emergent stars from this Presidential Pitch events shining brightly. We are proud to point out that Pizzaman-Chickenman is our graduate from the 2018 Pitch Event. Today, the owner, the 27-year-old Christian Boakye Yiadom, runs the largest chain of restaurants in Ghana, with 63 outlets and is competing well with global brands such as KFC, Burger King and others.
The National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program take the privilege to lead the flagship initiative for providing integrated, national support for start-ups and small businesses very seriously.
“We are clear in our mission to support the building of Ghana as an entrepreneurial nation to take advantage of national, regional and global opportunities” he acknowledged.
Following the global turbulence from COVID and geopolitical tensions in Eastern Europe, they designed responsive programs to enable young entrepreneurs pursue their passions amidst these challenges.
In his remarks, the CEO of NEIP, Mr Kofi Ofosu Nkansah reiterated that their philosophy is to collaborate with other actors, both public and private, to reach more entrepreneurs. They have therefore added new Program to our portfolio.
He said that the NEIP extending their partnerships to other territories as well. As a result they have collaborated with the Ghana Prisons Service to equip prison inmates with vocational and entrepreneurial skills to facilitate their integration into society after discharge through our Entrepreneurship for Restoration project.
“Alongside these direct interventions in entrepreneurship, we have persisted with our mission to lubricate the Innovation Ecosystern. Innovation Week has been launched to provide tailor-made interventions towards achieving a vibrant and robust innovation culture” he lamented.
The finalists from the Presidential Pitch process are here today. As has become our hallmark, we have selected these finalists through a transparent and competitive process.
NEIP received applications across various sectors; Fintech and Technology, Manufacturing and Processing, Food and Beverage, Agribusiness, Tourism & Creatives Sector, TVET and other sectors.
“To the finalists, you are not short of role models, if ever there were lingering doubts due to operational challenges in your journey, remember that besteed Glants like Zeepay, Express Pay and the Hubtels faced difficulties too, but they are good African examples for us today” he advised.
On our part, Mr. President, NEIP will continue to work hard to ensure that these Startups find the wherewithal to create strong mutually beneficial partnerships to attract the needed investments.
“We will continue to work with all stakeholders, public, private, and development partners towards achieving Government’s vision for creating a country where ingenuity is encouraged, innovation is supported, private entrepreneurship is valued, and responsibility is shared” he observed.

The first ever creative arts school is being built to harness and develop the talent of the youth in the Creative arts. The President legacy includes 10 state-of-the-art STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) schools.
He said these institutions are designed to cultivate the talents of our youth in diverse fields, ensuring that they are equipped to excel in an ever-evolving global landscape and to be at the forefront of the 4th industrial revolution. Your aim as you have pointed out to us on many occasions, is to nurture not just students but innovators, leaders, and pioneers who will drive Ghana forward.
According to him, the NEIP and H.E.Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo goal was to create over one million jobs during tenure through youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
Through the President understanding of the multifaceted needs of our youth, and also invested in 10 Youth Resource Centers across the country equipped with world-class sports facilities which represents your commitment to fostering both physical and mental well-being of the Youth.
These centers will serve as hubs of activity, growth, and community, where young people can engage in constructive pursuits and develop their talents to the fullest.
“At the launch of the National Youth Policy in 2022, you declared August as the Youth Month. It was the time to celebrate, engage, and provide young people with the listening ear, bringing them to the table and to discuss solutions to challenges” he emphasis.
