The abandoned aircraft, which was originally flown by the now-defunct Ghana Airways, was recently featured in a viral video. Ghanaian artist Ibrahim Mahama has disclosed that he is the owner of the aircraft.
Almost three years ago, Mahama bought the aircraft from Antrak Air and changed the name back to Ghana Airways, he said on X.
“The whole point was to transform it into a moving museum across the country, so look out for that soon,” he shared.
Mahama also acknowledged Sulley Muntari, pointing out that the football player’s cleaning business assisted with the plane’s cleaning.
The project intends to transform the aircraft into a one-of-a-kind mobile exhibition, giving Ghanaians a fresh and innovative opportunity to interact with art and history.
