Shatta Wale deserves the title of Reggae/Dancehall Artist of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards UK. The awards’ calendar runs from March 2022 to April 2023. During this musical period, Shatta Wale released one of the biggest dancehall songs, “On God”, โBest Lyfโ featuring Jupitar.
He also released the most significant reggae dancehall album, “MAALIโ featuring Vybz Kartel. This album achieved the remarkable feat of reaching number one on the USA Reggae iTunes chart, marking the first time an African artist achieved such a debut at the global music stage.
Additionally, in the year under review, Shatta Wale hosted the most extensive concert, the “Freedom Wave concertโ, which filled the Accra Sports Stadium for the first time by any artiste, boasting a seating capacity of 40,000.
Furthermore, he was awarded a citation from the President of the Borough of the Bronx for his significant contribution to reggae/dancehall in the world of music at his headline concert in NYC at SummerStage NYC festival.
