Business tycoons, Collapsed banks, Private SHSs, others to pay legal fees for NDC

A group of Ghanaian business tycoons, Philanthropists, among others citizen have availed themselves to pay the legal fees of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The consortium who want to support the National Democratic Congress to pay their legal fees at the Supreme Court comprises Small Scale Miners Association, Second-Hand Car Dealers Association, Spare Part Dealers Association, Former Menzgold Customers Association, Association of Collapsed Bank Workers, and Private SHS Teachers Association of Ghana.

According to the group, they are ready to foot the legal fees of the National Democratic Congress’s 2020 Presidential Election Petition at the Supreme Court of Ghana.


The largest opposition political party, National Democratic Congress (NDC) is set to formerly file a petition at the Supreme Court of Ghana on Wednesday, 30th December, 2020.

The date as announced by the National Democratic Congress is the last day of the mandated 21 days stated by the Law for any individual or political party who is not satisfied by the outcome of the elections to challenge it at court.

The information was disclosed by a member of the legal team of the National Democratic Congress, Rockson-Nelson Etse Kwame Dafeamekpor on Joy FM’s News file on Saturday December 26, 2020 hosted by Lawyer Samson Anyenini.

Rockson-Nelson Etse Kwame Dafeamekpor who serves as the Member of Parliament for South Dayi noted that, the National Democratic Congress’s decision to go to court to challenge December 2020 election results is a Constitutional provision and no one can stop them.

On Thursday evening, December 10, 2020, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress H.E John Dramani Mahama has rejected the Electoral Commission’s Presidential election results declaration.

Addressing the media, and the nation on the declaration of the Presidential 2020 election results by the Electoral Commission’s Chairperson Mrs. Jean Mensa, Mr. Mahama says he will not accept fictional results of a flawed elections, because there is no doubt Ghanaians voted for change.

According to him, the party will not accept anything short of a declaration of the legitimate results which points to an NDC parliamentary majority and accusesed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of a desire to hold on to power, saying there “is a redetermined plan to manipulate the elections.”

Mr. Mahama also noted that, the Electoral Commission is in cahoots with the incumbent government led by Preaident Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to rigged the election, a situation he described as a calculated attempt to subvert the will of the people.
