On social media, footage of a man being attacked after reaching through a fence to pet a lion is circulating.

The incident was caught on camera and has since gone viral on social media.
The man can be seen taunting the caged lion in front of the enthralled audience.
The attendant teased the massive predator with his hand for several seconds, clapping and gesturing to get its attention.
After the lion’s patience with the ‘game’ ran out, it bit down on his finger after one last brush against its teeth.
The audience, seemingly unaware of the danger, stood with mouths agape as the attendant and the lion engaged in a literal tug-of-war.
As the lion growled, he screamed expletives over and over, his movements becoming more urgent and desperate.
Even with both feet braced against the wire-mesh fence’s foundation, the man was no match for the lion’s brute strength, and the horrifying realization came too late for the visiting audience.
The man’s hand was finally freed, minus his ring finger, to the delight of the audience.
However, after sticking his hand through the chain-linked lion’s cage, the man’s right ring finger was bitten off, according to eyewitnesses.
