I Stopped Trying To Lose Weight to Focus on My Mental Health and Finally Lost Weight
IT’S BEEN 6 MONTHS!!
Why is that a big deal for me? I’ve never been consistent about behind healthy for this long. I would always burn out after 8-12 weeks. But now it’s all just apart of my habits. I don’t spend a lot of mental energy worrying about what to eat. I just make sure to have protein every time I eat and eat when I’m hungry.
I’ve been really depressed since winter started but have been using exercise to help manage those symptoms. But am also very lenient with myself. Sometimes just getting out of bed and showering is all I can do for the day.
All in all I have lost another 10 pounds since my last post. The weight loss is now noticeable everywhere. All of my clothes fit differently and I will need to do a lot of shopping this spring if this keeps up haha.
Still no goal weight or goal body! I’m very happy with how I look now, but have a lot of strength goals I want to reach and will continue making those the priority.
Just another reminder that depression sucks. Depression and ADHD both contribute to weight gain and make it so much harder to lose weight. It’s okay to take care of your mental health! Because that makes it so much easier to care about your physical health. I’m rooting for you all!! Can’t wait to give another update in a few months!
