BDF Ghana to Hold Human Rights and Drug Abuse Sensitization Programme for Students in Daboya
BDF Ghana is set to organize a Pre-Tertiary Human Rights and Drug Abuse Sensitization Programme aimed at educating students on their rights, responsibilities, good governance, and the dangers associated with drug abuse.
The event is scheduled to take place on June 17, 2026, at Markazia Junior High School (JHS) in Daboya, beginning at 10:00 a.m. sharp.
The programme will feature Abukari Nnenamuwa Salma, a respected community journalist and Right to Information (RTI) champion in the North Gonja District, as the guest speaker.
During the sensitization session, Ms. Salma is expected to share her knowledge and experiences on human rights, governance, civic responsibility, and the importance of youth participation in building a better society. She will also address the growing concern of drug abuse among young people and emphasize the need for students to make informed decisions that will positively shape their future.
Organizers say the initiative forms part of BDF Ghana’s commitment to empowering young people through education, awareness creation, and advocacy on issues affecting their personal development and well-being.
The programme is expected to bring together students, teachers, community leaders, and stakeholders to discuss practical ways of promoting responsible behavior and creating safer learning environments.
BDF Ghana has urged students to take advantage of the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and become ambassadors against drug abuse within their schools and communities.
The organization reiterated its call for young people to stay away from harmful substances and embrace positive values that contribute to national development.
The event will be held under the theme of empowering students through human rights and drug abuse sensitization.
