GES sacks students who insulted Akuffo-Addo. WATCH VIDEO
Following comprehensive investigations, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has fired five (5) female students from Chiana SHS in the Kassena Nankana West District of the Upper East Region who were seen in a viral video disrespecting President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Letters dismissing the pupils who had been under suspension due to the video have now been delivered to their guardians.
The GES stated that their conduct was “extremely undesired, and opposed to the acceptable standards of the conduct normally required of any student in the educational system of Ghana,” which is why they were fired.
The letter of dismissal, dated November 29, 2022, and bearing the Director General of the GES’s signature, Dr. Eric Nkansah, the guardians were urged to make sure that their children turned over all school property to the institution before leaving permanently.
In a video that went popular on social media in November of last year, female students berated the president, accusing him of, among other things, causing economic hardship.

Many people were upset by the situation and demanded that they get harsh punishment. Child Rights International had issued a cautionary note against abusing them. However, a lot of people demanded the worst penalties for them.
