Medeama SC on Sunday started the new Ghana Premier League season with a 1-0 win against Legon Cities FC.
The Yellow and Mauve outfit today played as a guest to the Royals in a matchday one encounter staged at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra.
In a game that saw both teams putting up a good performance in the first half, neither side could score and went into the break on level pegging.
After recess, Medeama SC proved to be the better side and made it count in the 68th minute.
Attacker Kofi Asmah scored with a fantastic header to shoot the visitors into the lead.
The efforts of Legon Cities FC to get back into the game cost the team in the final 10 minutes. Two layers were sent off after they were shown the red card for dangerous tackles.
Eventually, Medeama SC held on to win 1-0 to ensure the team bagged the maximum three points.
The team is just one of six teams that have won their first matches of the new Ghana Premier League season.
