Hervé Renard Appointed As Tunisia Head Coach Until 2026 World Cup

The Tunisian Football Federation has officially appointed Hervé Renard as the new head coach of the national team following the dismissal of Sabri Lamouchi after Tunisia’s heavy 5-1 defeat to Sweden at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Renard, one of Africa’s most accomplished football managers, returns to international football with the task of rebuilding Tunisia’s campaign and restoring confidence within the squad.

The French tactician is best known for guiding Zambia to a historic Africa Cup of Nations triumph in 2012 and later leading Ivory Coast to AFCON glory in 2015. He also gained worldwide recognition after masterminding Saudi Arabia’s stunning victory over Argentina at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Tunisian Football Federation confirmed that Renard has signed a contract that will keep him in charge until the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Football analysts believe Renard’s vast international experience and proven success on the African continent make him a strong candidate to steer Tunisia through a crucial period as the Carthage Eagles seek to bounce back from their disappointing World Cup performance.
